The Fifth Witness by Michael Connelly

Hi everyone welcome to my blog, in this post today I am going to be reviewing The Fifth Witness by Michael Connelly, I hope you enjoy my review and thoughts on this book.

In this book we follow a lawyer called Mickey who at the time is helping people with foreclosures and helping them keep a roof over their heads. This is all until he gets a phone call explaining that one of his old foreclosure clients have asked for him, this time because she has been arrested for murder. Throughout this book we follow Mickey as he tried to unravel this murder to find out if she did Kill him, or did someone else. Also he wants to find out how and why this person was murdered.

The beginning of this book was a little slow, but soon picked up pace. This was the first book I have read where you see everything from the defendant lawyer in the case, which was really awesome to see as you usually see crime books from the police investigators side, or the killers side.

The ending of the book was a huge shocking twist I didn’t see coming, it was very cleaver to put it in there. Everything then wrapped up nicely of what happened, how the murder took place and who did it. I honestly believed all through the book that only one person could of killed the man, but oh boy I was wrong. This book had a good reading pace and I managed to finish it within 4 days between moving house. I was completely hooked and wanted to see what was going to happen. I also loved the writing style and will be picking up some more of his books to read and delve further into his characters and crime world.

On goodreads i gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I would 100% recommend this book for anyone who wants a different but great perspective on a crime novel

you can follow me on goodreads here to see what books i am currently reading and what books I want to read in the future :

I hope you enjoyed reading my review on this book. What is your favourite book genre to read? Let me know in the comments and I will see you in my next blog post
